Would a 36″ cinch fit my horse?
So I’m searching for a new cinch for my horse since the old one (nylon) ended up rubbing up against my horse and causing quite a bit of discomfort. I found a fair priced neoprene one (a brand recommended by the trainer), but it says 36″ and I don’t know if that’ll fit my horse.
Some information:
My horse is a 5 year old Mustang gelding
15 hands
Medium build (not tiny, not bulky, just in between)
I can put up pictures if need be.
What about 28″
When I tried guessing what size cinch I needed I ended up going back three times before I found one that fit. I would suggest measuring your horse. You want the buckles on the cinch to be high enough that they sit flat on your horses sides. Have someone hold one side of the tape measure where you want the buckles to sit and then you check the other side, Easy as pie and you’ll know exactly what you need. Also have you seen those knew neoprene cinches that have white areas that are raised to increase air flow and keep your horse cool. If I hadn’t just bought my regular neoprene cinch I would have loved to have one of those but I didn’t know they made them at the time. They look way comfy. Check them out and see what you think.
